Grandma’s Apple crisp with Gluten-Free and no sugar added options!

Ingredients:

4 Large tart cooking apples

3/4 C packed brown sugar

1/2 C flour

1/2 C quick oats

1/3 C butter, softened

3/4 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg

Instructions:

  1.  Heat oven to 375 F.  Grease 8 x 8 pan
  2. Spread apples in pan.  In medium mixing bowl, stir remaining ingredients.  Sprinkle over apples.
  3. Bake about 30 min or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender when pierced with a fork.
  4. Server warm plain or with vanilla ice cream.

** For Gluten-free option: I used Aldi brand Live G Free baking mix in place of the regular flour.

***For no sugar added: Replace 3/4 packed brown sugar with 2/3 C packed Splenda brown sugar.

Serves 4 to 6
